Oyster Nuts

From the pumpkin family, climbing vine is the exquisite oyster nut: Known by different names such as kweme, Amaido Munu, Telfairia pedata, kulekula; 

it produces an enromus amount of oil and is one of the greatest oilseeds of all times. 

A large, flat nut that rivals almonds in flavor intensity with a taste somewhere between a macadamia and a walnut. he vines are vigorous perennials that grow very quickly to 30 m tall, using large trees for support, and start producing after about 2 years. It  ripens in 5-6 months from flowering; split open, it reveal its seeds.
